Individual Counselling
Working Together Towards Positive Change

My Approach
I am a professional Counsellor registered with The Australian Counselling Association.
I draw from a range of well-established counselling approaches and therapeutic techniques; Embodied Processing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Grief & Loss and Couples Therapy.
However, my work is always grounded in a person-centred philosophy.
This means that you remain at the heart of the counselling process.
Your goals, priorities, and lived experience guide our work together. We focus on the areas you feel are most important and meaningful to your life, ensuring that your counselling journey feels empowering, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs.
You are welcome to contact me for an initial consultation to explore how counselling could best support you.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a practical, evidence-based approach that helps people develop psychological flexibility. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or emotions, ACT teaches you how to relate to them in a healthier way.
Through mindfulness and acceptance strategies, you learn to make space for uncomfortable feelings while choosing actions that align with your values.
ACT focuses on what truly matters to you and supports you in taking meaningful steps toward the life you want to live. It is particularly helpful for managing stress, anxiety, low mood, and life transitions, while building resilience and long-term wellbeing.

Embodied Processing
Embodied Processing is a therapeutic approach that recognises the deep connection between the mind and body. It is based on the understanding that experiences, especially stressful or overwhelming ones, are not only held in our thoughts but also in our nervous system and physical responses.

In this approach, we gently explore bodily sensations, emotions, and patterns to help you process experiences in a safe and supported way. By increasing awareness of what is happening in the body, you can begin to release tension, regulate emotions, and respond to challenges with greater calm and clarity. This supports lasting emotional balance and resilience.

Solution Focused
Therapy
Solution Focused Therapy is a practical, goal oriented approach that concentrates on building solutions rather than analysing problems in depth. It is based on the belief that you already hold strengths, skills, and resources that can support positive change.

In this approach, we focus on what is working, what you would like to be different, and the small, achievable steps that can move you forward.
By identifying clear goals and recognising progress along the way, Solution Focused Therapy helps to build confidence, clarity, and momentum toward meaningful and lasting change.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, often referred to as CBT, is a structured and evidence based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
It is based on the idea that unhelpful thinking patterns can influence how we feel and how we respond to situations.

In CBT, we work together to identify and gently challenge these patterns, developing more balanced and constructive ways of thinking. This can lead to positive changes in mood and behaviour. CBT is particularly effective for anxiety, depression, stress, and confidence difficulties, providing practical tools that can be applied in everyday life.
